thicker head gasket?

i have a 2000 pontiac firebird i am going to turbocharge. i am replacing the head gasget now and am wondering if i should go to a thicker gasget for lower comprestion ratio if i want to run about 5-8 psi on the stock moter. the stock comprestion ratio is 9:1
