Oil cooled turbo vs water and oil cooled?

I am doing a custom turbo project on an air cooled 4 cylinder. I was looking at the Garrett oil cooled or water and oil. I know that they say that the oil and water spools up faster and lasts better, but is more expensive. I could hook up a motorcycle radiator for the water cooling, but is the performance that much better?
